So Long, Sedona, and Thanks for the Inner Peace

It has been a real good week in Sedona. I truly liked it. The views, my gosh those views. I had a spa day yesterday and was asking the gal what it's like to see this beauty every day. A born and raised Sedonaian she said that when you're growing up you don't appreciate it but as an adult, you thank God every day for what you have. I can see that, 100%.

This week started off at the "metaphysical B&B" where I achieved inner peace by noon on Saturday and wondered why I didn't download some shows or podcasts to entertain me. Don't get me wrong, I really did take time to enjoy my surroundings and go on several walks. Many hours were spent just watching the world go by. It just sucked that it was winter and they weren't doing any of their hippie stuff. Maybe I'll find something in San Diego that's comparable. Nonetheless, the views and the splendor of where I was at was certainly not lost on me.

I did spend a little time chilling in front of this. People have contributed water from all over the world, so that's pretty dang cool.

A slice of heaven on one of my walks

More hippie stuff that I didn't get to do b/c it was closed. Serenity doesn't take a holiday, people!

If a cabin and a yurt had a baby it'd be the Fairy Suite. It's unassuming but those views,
my God the view!

See?!?

Seriously! Look at that!

This is how I enjoyed coffee one morning.

Even Mr. Pups tried to find inner peace.

Monday suuuuucked. I swore to myself this was the last time I'd have a work day when I'm transitioning hotels. I worked from a cold Starbucks, a freezing library, the much warmer car, you name it. I had to work "remotely" for 7 hours before checking in at the Hilton. Oh, the Hilton...such a welcome respite from the road! Needless to say, when I arrived I spread out and took full advantage of the amenities (even the free laundry that apparently resulted in a dropped pair of underwear right there in the parking lot). I had the fastest wifi, let me tell you! Now I felt settled and like I could enjoy Sedona.

Office for the next four days

Momma deserves nice things

There's a level of calm here that falls upon you. It's nice. I think it just may be from the desert and beauty that surrounds us. You realize how insignificant you really are. Those buttes don't care about your piddly ass problems. They've been here since the dinos and they'll be here long after we leave this Earth. Just....chilllll.

Tuesday I went to the Church of the Holy Cross, a chapel built into the buttes. Oh...my...goodness. So wonderful. I prayed deeply in there. It was just...art in the highest form. I loved it.

Wooooowwwwwww

I mean look at it!

The red is just indescribable. This is what the chapel looks out to. Amazing.

Wednesday I went to this bougie outdoor shopping center that was something out of a little Italian village. It was adorable! You pay for the adorableness but I for one enjoyed it. I got to go to whatever shops I wanted for however long I wanted and leave when I wanted and on and on. This is the day that I really started enjoying being with myself and living for myself. I noticed I was walking taller and had a more confident swagger to me. I felt good, genuinely good. And then I treated my 'sef.

My treasures from Sedona. I just realized I don't have a magnet yet!

All my treasures to date.

Thursday I pretty much kept to myself sans a 30-minute drive to get a car wash. (Learned there was one closer, but meh, what else did I have going on?) Gave Zippi a wash, cleaned her out (still need to air up those tires), and reorganized the trunk. Oh, she feels so much better! Zippi deserves nice things, she's been doing great on this road trip. When I get to Nashville and settled I'm getting her a detail, telluwut.

And then we're on Friday, the last day. :(  Spa day! :)  Had an ah-mah-zing facial, oh my gosh was it great. Felt human again! Then a MUCH needed wax. Holy hell that hurt. That girl did not hold back, RIP! Fuck that sucked but you can't argue with the results! Now I'm ready for Cali.

Also treated me to a nice dinner and this luscious 'rita right here.

Speaking of which, I'll be heading out here in about 1.5 hours to Joshua Tree. Feeling nervous about the Air B&B there, but it's a one-night stay, and then San Diego baby! I'm REALLY looking forward to two straight weeks there. It's been nice to be here in Sedona for five days to really get the feel of the town, the area, and the people. I'm happy to do that in S.D.

Onward fellow travelers!!!!
